Central Girls Wrestling Compete at Grant

The Central Girls team traveled to Grant High School in Fox
Lake to compete in the Girls Block Party.
Seven total teams battled in a scramble format. The Lady Redhawks won twelve of fourteen
matches, eleven by fall and one by technical fall. All matches were decided prior to the start
of the third period. All seven Hawks won
matches including Annika Hull, Gracie Meluch, Ellen Purl, Dezi Azar and Arianna
Rico who all won both of their matches.
Arianna Rico won her first two matches of the season, both by fall.
Lady Redhawk Wrestlers Mix It Up at Batavia

The NCHS girls continued their busy week with a
scramble-wrestling event hosted by Batavia.
Nine schools matched up for a couple of matches with each wrestler
receiving two matches. Central won eight
matches against seven losses. All eight
matches were won by fall.
Desi Azar won both of her matches including an exciting fall
against Sylvester of West Aurora. Azar
scored two takedowns in the match before securing the fall in the second
period. Young Gracie Meluch added two
more wins to here record. Ellen Purl
looked impressive with two come-from-behind wins, the second against Molina of
West Aurora. Arianna Rico got an extra
match by way of a 5-man bracket and made the most of it, pinning Giakouni of
Batavia in 40 seconds. Rico finished the
day 2-1. Annika Hull, Bianca Arrendondo
and Sophia Liu also competed.
