Naperville Central finished in fourth place at the Hoffman Estates Tournament.  The Redhawks finished just 13 team points from second place.  In the final place round, NCHS won seven of the eleven matches.

Finishing in first place was junior Cam Hayes.  Hayes, 145, was unseeded in the tournament but scored a 16-0 technical fall against the fourth seed and pinned the first seed in the semifinals before working to a 3-1 decision in the finals against Josh Alexander of Bolingbrook.

Two Redhawks took second place.  Ben Williamson won by technical fall to advance to the finals but was defeated by Barzowski of Notre Dame 2-4 in overtime.  Derek Wilke won 15-0 and 13-5 to get to the finals before losing to Piuti of LWC 2-10.

Three Central wrestlers finished in third place.  Senior Riley Guttosch came from behind in his final match and locked down an exciting fall.  Riley finished the day with two pins.  Jake Keating also won by fall in this final match to take the bronze.  Jake got two pins as well.  Shuji Mizoguchi locked down a fall in the first period of his consolation match too.

Rick Marciniak earned a trip to the semifinals with a fall and finished in fourth place.  Christian Nussbaum ended the day with three hard earned victories, two of which were pins, to take fifth.  Kyle Hildebrand scored three wins in the wrestle-backs to take fifth place.  Luc Jandt wrestled back for a fifth place finish with two wins.  Heavyweight Hayden Saldivar had three wins of his own to take sixth.

Robby Martins won a match against Libertyville to finish at 1-2.  Jason Heatherly and Alex Hunter also wrestled for the Redhawks.

The Naperville Central JV1 team won the Streamwood Dual Team Tournament.  They defeated South Elgin, West Chicago and Highland Park.  The NCHS freshman team wrestled Lyons, Glenbard South, and Fenwick at Lyons.

Next Up the Redhawks will compete at the competitive 28 team Whitlatch Tournament at Hinsdale Central High School.  The tournament will take place Friday and Saturday December 19-20.  On Friday the JV1, JV2 and Freshman will host Glenbard West.  On Saturday the JV1 team will travel to Bolingbrook, the JV2 team (sophomores) will compete at the Maine South Tournament, and the Freshman will be in a quad at Hinsdale South.
