Naperville Central Celebrates the 2016-2017 Season

Naperville Central celebrated its wrestling accomplishments at the annual awards banquet on Thursday night.  There was plenty to celebrate:

  • 19-4, (6-2 in DVC): 2nd in duals DVC, 3rd in DVC tournament
  • Defeated Glenbard North in a dual – giving them the first dual loss in a DVC event in 18 years
  • 1st at Hoffman Estates, 1st at the M-S Invitational, and 3rd at Regionals
  • had 0 conference champs
  • qualified 7 wrestlers for the sectional tournament
  • had 2 state qualifiers and 2 state placewinners (first time since 1989)
  • freshman finished the season undefeated in the DVC in duals
  • JV1 finished 3rd place in DVC, JV2 finished 2nd in DVC
