NCHS 67 – West Chicago 0
NCHS 39 – Deerfield 31
The Redhawks good fortune continued with another pair of dual victories
at home against West Chicago and Deerfield.
Central’s record improves to 18-3 on the season. The dual was wrestled in round-robin format on
two mats with the light guys wrestling West Chicago in round one, the light
guys wrestling Deerfield and the heavy guys wrestling West Chicago in round two
and the heavy guys competing against Deerfield in round three. When all was said and done, the Redhawks swept
West Chicago winning all 12 contested matches and picking up two more wins by
forfeit. Sean King, Jackson Punzel,
Tyler Driessens, Elrin Esporlas and Kyle Guttosch all won by fall while Colin
Baumgartner won by technical fall.
Deerfield proved to be a very stingy team. Both Deerfield and NCHS fielded full teams
and both won seven matches. Central was
able to secure more bonus points in the contest and that was the
difference. Driessens, Esporlas,
Guttosch, Punzel, Angelo Eklou and Carson Enfield all provided falls. Cameron Palmer battled to a hard fought overtime
win at 170 pounds. The Redhawks defeated
Deerfield for the second time this season.
