Naperville Central (17-1, 4-1) completed the DuPage Valley
Conference dual season with a win at Metea Valley. Central won ten of the twelve contested
matches and picked up another two wins by forfeit. Of the ten wins, three came by fall and three
came by technical fall. Naperville
Central gave up only three takedowns in the entire event.
Pins were recorded by Nick Antonietti (285), Ty Martin (113) and Tristen Hall (170). August Kukis (126) did not give up a point with a win by technical fall and Tommy Porter registered six takedowns toward a 21-5 technical fall. Gavin Bohan (160) scored eight match points by way of nearfall toward a 20-4 technical fall.
In perhaps the most exciting match of the night, Niko
Besteiro (220) was able to score two takedowns in the final period to come from
behind and win 6-5. Chris Ramirez (152)
and Haaris Khan (195) both came away with major decisions, winning 16-7 and 15-5
respectively. Mitchell Kaszuba (132)
scored five points in the first period and held that score for a 5-0
decision. Lucas Moen (120) and David
Pirozhnik (182) both picked up forfeits.
Central won all three JV matches and won five of six
freshman matches.
