The Redhawk JV team dominated the challenging 13-team Libertyville Tournament scoring 279.5 points. Lyons Township took second place with 193 and Glenbrook South finished third with 158. Naperville Central sent ten wrestlers to the finals, six bringing home blue ribbons. Of the eighteen entered, NCHS placed sixteen, twelve it the top three. Every Redhawk won a match and the team finished 49-16 in total.
Standing on top of the podium were Dalton Meluch (106), Jake Moore (113), Jack Schwartz (126), Bradley Anderson (150), Nick Olvera (165), and Christian Kuta (285). Silver medalists were Cayden Castro (126), Austin Schiltz (138), Quinn O’Donnell (144) and Luciano Antonietti (190). Castro lost to his teammate in the finals. Schiltz just missed a championship, losing in overtime in the finals. Flynn Collins (120) and Paul Peradotti (175) earned bronze. Other placewinners were Jackson Bell (5th, 113), Yusuf Sikander (5th, 157), Caelon Young (6th, 157), and Nate Radtke (6th, 215). Sean Fitzgerald finished 2-2 and Gavin McDonald finished 1-2.
Meanwhile, Naperville Central hosted a home-friendly dual, mostly at the freshman level with Lyons Township. No team scores were kept. Central won 15 of 22 matches with big wins posted by Evan Horn, Igor De Castro, Connor DeBora, George Sbarboro, Jad Salem, Simon Hayes, Johnny Brower, Ethan Pangman, Leon Elenovski, Mason Costantine, Logan Hornbaker, Eli Mallory, Mason Betz-Waters, Joseph Tamsevicius, and Nate Fenton.
