Naperville
Central won all three duals at the annual “Mega Duals”, this year held at Wheaton
Warrenville South High School. In all
three duals, the Redhawks won 35 matches against just 7 losses. Central added 53 takedowns in the three
duals.
Central
opened with a defeat Oswego East 74-6 to start the contests. In dual
two, the Redhawks shut out hosts Wheaton Warrenville South by a score of
71-0. In the final meet, the Hawk beat
West Aurora 45-35.
Paul
Peradotti won all three matches by fall at 190 pounds. William Erbeck (275) and Jacob Cochran (132) both
finished 3-0 as well with both locking down two falls. Other Redhawks who finished undefeated
include Henry Rydwelski, CJ Bierman, Jake Moore, and Jack Schwartz. Rydwelski tied Yusuf Sikander in takedowns,
both earning eight total. Both Rydwelski
and Sikander won two matches by technical fall as well.
Central’s JV1
team won all two duals, defeating Oswego and Rockton Hononegah before losing to
St. Charles East.
Naperville Central won the eight team Lyons Township Freshman Wrestling Invitation with 245 points. Naperville North took second place with 226 points while hosts Lyons Township scored 151 points. Tournament champions for the Hawks were Jack Fitzgerald at 106, Nathan Pins at 113, and Oliver Kukis at 120. Fifteen of sixteen Central wrestlers placed in the top four in the tournament.
