Central Hosts Three Top Schools in Home Quad

  • Naperville Central 21 – Glenbard North 47
  • Naperville Central 29 – Oak Park River Forest 41
  • Naperville Central 35 – Homewood Flossmoor 38

The Naperville Central Redhawks are now 16-6 on the season after dropping three tough duals at home.  Combined, Central won 16 matches and lost 26.  Two Hawks won all three matches and three others finished 2-1.

Against Glenbard North, Central won four matches.  At 132, Vince Bern earned a decision 13-6.  Nick Olvera earned a fall in the final seconds of his match at 165.  Henry Rydwelski locked down a first period fall at 175 and Will Erbeck matched with a first period pin at 285.

The Redhawks came away with six individual victories against Oak Park River Forest.  Jack Schwartz placed his opponent’s shoulders to the mat at 113 pounds in the second period.  Vince Bern, 132, got his second victory of the day with a technical fall 17-1.  Nick Olvera, 165 scratched out a second win with a 10-3 decision.  Henry Rydwelski, 175, scored a second hand-raiser with a 19-3 technical fall.  Paul Peradotti, wrestling at 190, won 15-1 and Will Erbeck got a pin in the second period of his match at 285.

Central won three matches against Homewood Flossmoor in the final match and were given three more by forfeits.  Receiving wins by forfeit were CJ Bierman (150), Paul Peradotti (175) and Nithilan Gandi (215).  Stavros Gerousis got the Hawks on the board with a second period fall at 138.  Nick Olvera made the day a perfect 3-0 for himself with a technical fall win 18-3 at 165.  Captain Will Erbeck anchored the team at heavyweight with a third fall for the day.  Erbeck is 26-1 on the year and leads the team in falls with 20.
