Naperville Central finishes dual season with win

Naperville Central finishes the 2010-2011 dual season by defeating Thornton Fractional South at Lansing by a final score of 66-8. Central finishes the year 13-8 in duals.

The Hawks won 8 of 10 contested matches and picked up 4 additional wins by forfeits. Of the eight wins, five came by falls and one by technical fall. Ryan Porter scored a fall by a headlock in his 103 pound match. John Graeber scored a fall in the second period of his match. Colin Guttosch locked down a fall at 171 and Luke Roth followed that up with a fall at 189. James Mitchell was able to win by fall at heavyweight.

Josh Tardy scored 10 takedowns to go past the century mark for season takedowns this year. Tardy won by technical fall 27-9. Kyle Miller won at 140 by a major decision of 10-2 and John Mixen battled to a 5-3 win at 152. Only Tom Mitrenga (160) and Mitch Lee (112) came up on the losing side, dropping their matches to ranked wrestlers.

The Redhawks will now prepare for the DuPage Conference Tournament to be held at Wheaton Warrenville South High School next Saturday, January 29.
