Naperville Central fell to the two time defending state champs by a score of 14-52 at home. Four Redhawks managed wins against the Eagles. Derek Wilke scored four takedowns and a pair of nearfalls to win by major decision against Glascott. Cam Hayes entered the line-up at 132 pounds and defeated Hirsch by a score of 9-1. Hayes scored four takedowns in his match including two in the third period to secure a major decision. The effort was rewarded with the team’s “I’m Somebody” Award.
Tony Biondo followed Hayes’s win with a win of his own.  The sophomore came from behind with a
nearfall in the second period and an escape and takedown in the third to win
8-2.  The last victory for NCHS was produced
by heavyweight Hayden Saldivar.  Saldivar
scored takedowns in the first and second period to win 4-0.
The NCHS JV1 team defeated Sandburg 42-28.  Pins were posted by Luc Jandt, Sean Piggott, Nick
Nunziato, Jimmy Kaeppel, and Christian Nussbaum.  Marcello Barbarotta and Mustafa Ahmed earned
decisions.
Next up the Redhawks will be at home on Friday, January 3rd
at home against Plainfield East, St. Charles North, and Stevenson.  Then the Hawks will travel to Schaumburg on
Saturday to face the home team along with Crystal Lake South and
Libertyville.  The JV team will compete at
the Libertyville Tournament on January 3rd and will travel with the
varsity to Schaumburg on Saturday.  The
freshman will compete at the Hinsdale South Tournament on Saturday.
