Family and friends of former Naperville Central coach Bill
Young were present prior to the start of the dual to witness the unveiling of a
recognition banner. Coach Young, who
recently passed away after a long illness, is considered the father of
wrestling at Naperville. For 40 years,
his contributions to wrestling are too numerous to list. It was fun to acknowledge the Hall of Famer,
Bill Young.
Earlier this week, on Tuesday, November 25th, the
Naperville Central wrestling community, including wrestlers, parents, family
members and friends all gathered to work at Feed My Starving Children. FMSC is a charity that sends food to children
all over the word. With numbers of more
than 85, the group helped bag food for an hour and a half to help the
needy. It was a special event. Special thanks to all that helped with the
effort, especially Elissa Martins who helped organize the day. This work is part of a charity / fund-raising
effort that will continue later in December.
Next up the Redhawks will travel to Glenbard North for a DVC
dual against the Panthers on Friday, December 5th. Then the varsity, JV1 and JV2 teams will be
competing in the megaduals on Saturday, December 6th while the
freshman will be wrestling at the Lyons Tournament on the same day.
GO REDHAWKS!
