Naperville Central swept all five duals to win the
Bradley-Bourbonnais Dual Team Wrestling Tournament. The team is now 12-3
in duals on the year. In the competition, the Redhawks won 42
actual contested matches and lost just 10.
Of the 42 matches won, 28 were won by fall. The Hawks scored 79 total takedowns while
just giving up only 25.
Alex Hunter shined wrestling at heavyweight. Alex won all five matches, four by fall. Luc Jandt won five matches as well, four by
fall and one by forfeit. Other five
match winners were Shuji Mizoguchi (three pins), Christian Nussbaum (two pins),
and Steven Bumpus (one fall).
Four additional wrestlers finished undefeated on the
day. Jake Keating won four matches,
picking up two wins by fall and a win by forfeit. Derek McDaniel won all three of the matches
he competed in. Joe Lopez and Colin
Baumgartner both won a match, both locking down their first varsity wins.
Finishing with four wins were John Szczap and Ben
Cianchetti. Both wrestlers won three of
their matches by fall. Nick Keating won
three matches – two coming by forfeit and the other by pin. Kyle Guttosch and Luke Russell each ended the
day with a record of 2-2. Jackson Punzel
earned a pin and finished 1-1. Mujtaba
Ahmed lost the only match competed in by a score of 6-7.
