Naperville Central (9-3, 2-2
in DVC) win two duals at home to improve to 9-3 on the year. Central defeated Geneseo by 35 team points
and West Chicago by 52 team points. The event
was competed in round robin style on two mats.
In the 24 contested
matches, the Redhawks won 19. The Hawks
also accepted four additional wins by forfeit.
Leading the way for the
Redhawks was Cameron Palmer, Jackson Punzel and Ben Cianchetti. The trio won all six matches by pins at 182,
195, and 220 respectively. Fabricio
Navarro and Nick Keating were double winners with wins by technical fall and fall
each at 138 and 145 pounds.
Other twin winners were
Tyler Driessens, Ryan Chitwood, Elrin Esporlas, Ryan Silva, and Derek
McDaniel. Ryan Chitwood had an exciting
morning, pull out two close wins. One of
those wins included a five point move (takedown and three point nearfall) in
the final seconds to overcome a four point deficit, score 9-8. Ryan Silva was unscored upon, winning his
matches 3-0 and 5-0.
Matt Kaszuba won the only
match he competed in by a score of 9-6.
Next up the Redhawks will
compete in the 32 team DeKalb Dual Invitational on Friday and Saturday, December
29-30th
