NCHS faced off with St. Charles East and Bolingbrook at home
Saturday. The first contest was against
St. Charles East. The two teams split
seven wins apiece but the Saints pulled out the victory based on bonus points. In the second match, the Redhawks defeated
the Raiders. The two teams also split on
wins, five each, but the Hawks were allowed four wins by forfeit.
Ethan Olson, 120, finished off a great weekend with a pair of decision wins on the day. He defeated Brown of Bolingbrook with a takedown in overtime to win 3-1. Ayden Lutes, 152, added two wins to his record to improve to a team leading 13-1 record on the season. Lutes scored a fall against his opponent from Bolingbrook. He also leads the team in takedowns (45) and team points (58) on the season. Shane Roth, 182, remains undefeated on the season with a record of 11-0. Roth earned two major decisions. Ty Martin, 106 added to forfeits to his record. Nick Antonietti, 220, 285 won his only match 11-2. He now has a record of 11-2.
Tommy Porter, 145 won by pin against Joe McDermott of Bolingbrook for his second varsity win this season. Ethan Pytlak, 195 scored a pin over Medina of Bolingbrook. Austin Longmire, 220, 285 won one of two matches on the day. He nearly won his heavyweight match, scoring a late takedown to tie the score at 6-6, but he was reversed in the final seconds. Senior Alex Knusel, 132 picked up a huge win against Stieb of St. Charles East, topping his opponent 3-2. Knusel tore his shoe almost completely in half during the match. He had to borrow shoes for his second match. Ethan Sentman, 113 and Haaris Khan, 170 both won by forfeit against Bolingbrook.
